'Unbelievable' - Pundit claims Man City's Phil Foden is better than England icon
Speaking on talkSPORT this morning, following the Citizens' 2-1 (4-2 agg.) quarter-final second-leg win over Borussia Dortmund - a game in which Foden score a stunning goal - O'Hara lauded the talents of the 20-year-old, and contended: "Watching the game last night and watching him this season, he's unbelievable.

Hide Ad“He's really come to the fore and made himself probably one of the top three players and Manchester City. I was looking (at him) - and I know a lot of people always say this, when they're comparing people to Gascoigne - I look at Foden and I think 'he's better than Gascoigne'
“I know that's a big statement, but it’s just in terms of the way he’s going in his career and the way he plays. He’s doing it on the big stage already and he’s just a kid.
“And to do it at Manchester City, in a Pep Guardiola team, and to be so young and dominating games – two winners in two legs in a huge fixture.”

Hide AdThe former Wolves midfielder continued: “I just think he’s better than Gazza. For me, Gazza was my idol growing up. He won the FA Cup, he won the Scottish Premiership – we all know that doesn’t count as it means nothing.”
“He offers so much to the team. The way he carries the ball and runs through the pitch – and that’s what I loved about Gazza. He picks the ball up and he’s not frightened to go pass people.
“Gazza had this aura about him and everyone loves him because of what he is and any young star that England produce is always compared to him. I just look at Foden and think he is better, he is better [than Gazza].”

Hide AdMeanwhile, Foden's England teammate Jude Bellingham also impressed , scoring the opening goal of the game for BVB with a rasping drive into the top corner.
Both players stand a fine chance of making the Three Lions' Euro 2020 squad, and the youthful side are currently 5/1 joint-favourites with France to win the competition.
