Squads

England

Southgate revealed England’s 25-man squad last Thursday and it’s fair to say there was some interesting picks.

The usual suspects including Luke Shaw, Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane all earn yet another cap, while Harry Maguire’s inclusion was met with criticism.

Meanwhile, some less experienced players - the likes of Marc Guehi, Tyrick Mitchell, Kyle Walker-Peters and Conor Gallagher - could all make their international debut.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aaron Ramsdale, Reece James and Tammy Abraham were all forced to pull out with injuries.

Switzerland

Switzerland are yet to announce their squad.

Head-to-head

England are unbeaten against Switzerland since a 2-1 defeat in the 1981 World Cup - winning nine and drawing three since.

Their last meeting came in June 2019 in the UEFA Nations League, ending 0-0 at the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques in Portugal.

Jordan Pickford, Harry Maguire, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane were the only players from the line-up that feature in this week’s squad.
