We may be in the midst of an international tournament but the club season is already on the horizon.
After a thrilling season which saw Norwich City crowned champions the twenty-four English Championship clubs will find out what lies ahead of them later this week when the schedule for the upcoming season is released.
Here’s when you will find out who your club play on the opening day of the season and beyond.
When are the Championship fixtures released?
The full schedule for the 2021/22 campaign will be published on Thursday, June 25.
The English Football League will publish the entire calendar on their official website at 9am.
When does the new season begin?
The Championship season kicks off on the weekend of August 7.
Once fixtures are released there could be a Friday night fixture added to the equation which would see the season kick off on August 6.
When does the season conclude?
The final round of Championship fixtures will be played on May 7-8, 2022.
The Championship play-off final will be played at Wembley on Sunday, May 29.
When will League One and League Two fixtures be released?
League One and League Two fixtures are also scheduled to be released this Thursday at 9am.
Which teams have been promoted to the Championship?
Hull City, Peterborough United and Blackpool have all been promoted to the Championship from League One.
Which teams have been relegated from the Premier League?
Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United were all relegated from the Premier League to the Championship.
