Where will Jose Mourinho go next? - Juventus, Portugal, Bayern Munich & more assessed

He's hinted that he wants to get straight back into management, and could swerve the lucrative options of filling in as a big-name television pundit by taking a new high profile job over the summer.

Here, we take a look at the potential destinations for 'The Special One', as he plots the next move of his managerial career:

Juventus

As things stand, Juventus are the bookies' favourites to bring in Mourinho. That said, at 6/1, the odds aren't the shortest, which suggest the bookies are far from certain that he'll head back to Serie A.

The 58-year-old famously won the treble with Inter back in 2010, and could be tempted back to Italy, as Juve look to bounce back from a dismal season that has seen them lose their strangle-hold grip on the top tier and bow out of the Champions League at the Round of 16 stage.

He'd have plenty of money to spend, and could relish the opportunity to challenge his former employers for the title next season.

Portugal’s national team

There's been talk of Mourinho taking the job in the past, and he's admitted that he has a desire to lead his country into a major tournament.

As things stand, Fernando Santos, who won Euro 2016 with Portugal, is doing a cracking job at the helm, and he looks unlikely to step down from his role as his team step up preparations for the rescheduled Euro 2020 tournament this summer - a competition they qualified for reasonably comfortably.

Mourinho is priced at 7/1 to take the Portugal job as his next managerial role.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Spurs are said to be keen on Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, so could Mourinho fill his shoes at Molineux?

With no disrespect to Wolves, it would be a step down for him, having spent the vast majority of his career managing Europe's elite - Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United et al.

That said, Wolves are clearly an ambitious club not afraid to splash some cash, and bringing in Mourinho would be a huge statement of intent from the Midlands club.

Porto

A fairytale return to Porto? Well, you never know.

Mourinho won the UEFA Cup and Champions League back-to-back with the Portuguese giants, making a name for himself in football and securing his big move to Roman Abramovich's relatively newly-monied Chelsea back in 2004.

They've won five of the last ten Primeira Ligas, but would surely struggle to turn down a reunion with the club icon.

Bayern Munich

Hansi Flick looks set to leave the Bavarian giants this summer to take the Germany job, and it looks like RB Leipzig’s Julian Nagelsman could turn down the role to manage elsewhere - Spurs, quite possibly.

With no European Super League drama to worry about, and potentially a dramatically weakened Champions League to win with ease next season, Mourinho could fancy it.

The bookies don't, mind - they've got him out at a distant 12/1.
