The Blues will be hoping to not fall behind as Man City and Liverpool battle it out for the league title, while the Gunners are still in the race for top four.

The clash between the two London clubs, which was due to take place this weekend, would have been an important one for both sides.

However, the match at Stamford Bridge has been postponed - with a rescheduled date yet to be confirmed.

Unlike numerous Premier League fixtures this season, the tie’s postponement is not due to Covid-19.

Chelsea’s match against Arsenal has been postponed after Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.

Romelu Lukaku’s first half goal has allowed the Premier League side to progress to the final of the competition against Palmeiras, which will take place on Saturday afternoon in Abu Dhabi.

With over 3400 miles between Stamford Bridge and the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, Chelsea were forced to postpone their league fixture as they look to claim another piece of silverware under Tuchel.

What is the Club World Cup?

The seven clubs that qualified for this year’s tournament were Chelsea, Palmeiras (Brazil), Al Fazira Club (UAE), Pirae (Tahiti), Al Ahly (Egypt), Monterrey (Mexico) and Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia).

Liverpool were the Club World Cup winners in 2019 when they beat Flamengo 1-0 - the first Premier League side to reach the final since Chelsea were defeated by Corinthians in 2012.

Manchester United are the only other English club to be named Club World Cup champions.
