But neither team will have the chance to further their Premier League hopes against their North-West rivals this weekend, and here we look at why.

Why has Liverpool vs Man Utd been postponed?

Liverpool’s clash with United has been postponed this weekend because of FA Cup action.

Klopp’s men take on Nottingham Forest away from home in the quarter-finals on Sunday, and their cup commitment means they can’t compete in the Premier League.

The United clash has now been moved as a result, with Liverpool looking to keep their quadruple hopes alive.

When will it now take place?

At this point, we don’t know when the game will be rescheduled for.

European commitments mean it’s going to be tricky to find a new date for the game, with only three dates available.

20 April, 11 May and 18 May, all midweek dates, are the only current options on the table.

Though, should Liverpool progress in the FA Cup, they may need to find a date for another rescheduled game.

The Premier League are yet to announce the date, but given the size of this derby, they are likely to confirm a solution soon.
