Leeds United were due to host Chelsea at Elland Road this weekend, with both sides heading into the matchday off the back of impressive league wins last time out.

The Whites were close to claiming a point from Thomas Tuchel’s side in the reverse fixture back in December, with Jorginho’s 90th minute penalty the only difference.

While Leeds will be brimming with confidence due to their current form, they unfortunately won’t get to test the European champions this weekend, with the fixture being postponed.

Why has Leeds vs Chelsea been postponed?

The Premier League clash was postponed after Chelsea beat Middlesbrough in their FA Cup quarter-final clash last month.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech at the Riverside Stadium confirmed the Blues’ place in the semi-finals - which is due to take place on Sunday April 17.

The London club will face Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium at 4:30pm - the same day they were set to travel to Elland Road.

As a result of their commitments elsewhere, their trip to Yorkshire has been rescheduled.

When will the match be played?

Leeds United v Chelsea has been rescheduled to take place on Wednesday 11 May at 7:30pm.

The Whites are due to play Arsenal and Brighton either side of the Chelsea clash, while it is sandwiched between tough fixtures against Wolves and Manchester United for Tuchel’s side.
