The Masters tee times 2022: Round 1 schedule, pairings, groups - when Tiger Woods will tee off at Augusta

It will be an early start in Georgia as the race for the Green Jacket gets underway, with all the action being broadcast live in the UK.

The world’s best golfers will soon be teeing off at Augusta National for the 2022 edition of The Masters - the first major tournament of the PGA calendar.

There will be 91 players taking part in total ranging from amateurs to legends of the sport and it all gets underway on Thursday, April 6.

Sky Sports will have live coverage of all the action starting at 2pm on the opening days, 7:30pm on Saturday and 6:30pm on Sunday.

The tee times and groupings have been decided for the opening day and here is when and how the field will make their way out as the race for the Green Jacket begins.

The first ball of the tournament will be be struck at 1pm (BST), which is 8am in Georgia, as the first group makes their way out onto the famous course.

Spain’s Jose Maria Olazabal, who qualifies alongside all former winners of the competition having claimed the Green Jacket in 1994 and 1999, will be joined by the USA’s JJ Spaun in the opening pair.

Following them out eleven minutes later will be the threesome of 2003 winner Mike Weir, Padraig Harrington and Austin Greaser with the other groups continuing to tee off in eleven minute intervals.

There is sure to be plenty of attention on the 3:34pm (BST) tee off with Tiger Woods making his sensational comeback to the course.

The five time winner is joined by South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen and 23-year old Chilean Joaquin Niemann.

The group immediately following Tiger at 3:45pm (BST) will feature defending champion Hideki Matsuyama along with Justin Thomas and James Piot.

Pre-tournament favourite Jon Rahm will tee off at 6:41pm (BST) and will be playing alongside last year’s runner-up Will Zalatoris and Patrick Cantlay.

Rory McIlroy will be in the final group of the day to tee off as the Northern Irishman looks to win the tournament for the first time and, in doing so, join the elite group of players to have completed the Career Grand Slam.

He will be playing alongside England’s Matthew Fitzpatrick and the USA’s Brooks Koepka and they will make their way out at 7:03pm (BST).
