Grand National 2022 runners: Confirmed horses and jockeys running in the Grand National

Some of the greatest horses and jockeys of all-time have claimed the Grand National in the past, with the likes of Tiger Roll, Red Rum and AP McCoy’s long-awaited winner Don’t Push It all first past the post in the historic race.

But true history was made last year when Rachael Blackmore became the first female jockey to win the Grand National as she guided the 11/1 shot Minella Times home.

Blackmore wrote her name into the history books by seeing off second-placed Balko Des Flos, Any Second Now and Burrows Saint to claim victory by six and a half lengths.

Speaking after the race, she said: “It’s just incredible, the Grand National is so massive and I can’t believe it, it’s phenomenal, I’m speechless. I never imagined even getting a ride in this race, let alone be standing here looking at this trophy. This race captures the imagination of every young person with a pony.  I don’t feel male or female right now. I don’t even feel human.”

Blackmore will once again be aboard Minella Times as she looks to match Tiger Roll and Davy Russell’s consecutive wins in 2018 and 2019.

Competition looks likely to come in the form of Aidan Coleman’s Snow Leopardess, Escaria Ten and the much-fancied Delta Work.

Highly-touted Farclas, Caribbean Boy, Batteloverdoyen and Court Maid have all been withdrawn from the race to be replaced by Death Duty, Domaine De L’Isle, Eclair Surf and Fortescue.

Easysland, Phoenix Way and Lord Du Mesnil were also pulled out before Friday’s 1pm deadline.

Commodore, School Boy Hours and Romain De Senam have taken their place.
