There were two players that were all the talk after the conclusion of the 2022/2023 UEFA European Conference League last night; the first of course being the future of their captain, Declan Rice - who by lifting the trophy becomes the first English West Ham captain to lift a European trophy since Sir Bobby Moore in 1952 - and the other being the hero of the hour, Jarrod Bowen.

In a thrilling contest, it was Bowen that took the game by the reins, pulling off a brilliant run from a very close on-side position to score the winning goal in Prague last night in the 90th minute and finally earn West Ham United their first trophy since their FA Cup triumph in 1980. Fans were elated - family also, as Danny Dyer, a well known West Ham Fan, taking to Instagram to show a picture of Bowen lifting the trophy with the comment “F****ng perfect x”

Alongside that, Bowen's partner, the other Dani Dyer, shared her thoughts on the father of her children Star and Summer, also through social media, posting to Instagram Stories a photo of Bowen on screen and proclaiming how proud she was for him. Dyer was not in attendance, though followed all the action live in the UK.

If the winning goal wasn’t meme worthy, certainly his post-game interview with BT Sport (soon to be TNT Sport) will be doing the rounds this morning. Long has there been a crude chant West Fan fans use to extol their love of Jarrod Bowen and who he is currently intimate with (set to the tune of Gala’s 1996 single, ‘Freed From Desire’), but sadly one other enthusiastic fan who tried to star the chant behind Bowen during the interview drew the ire on an otherwise perfect night for the player.

As Bowen was discussing how important this moment was to the team and the fans, said fan started erupting on live TV “Bowen’s on fire, and he’s…” before being interrupted by Bowen, shooing him away and telling the fan “later, later, later…” 

So with a European trophy now part of his playing portfolio, is Jarrod Bowen set for a change to his current net worth, and will his transfer value rise after this victory?

Currently, Jarrod Bowen’s net worth is £12.1 million GBP, and is contracted to West Ham United until 2025. This may change however when performance bonuses are added, including any additional bonuses for winning a European competition (which may be a stipulation in his current contract.)

According to Transfermrkt, Bowen’s current transfer value is around the £32 million GBP mark, but it isn’t the highest his market value has been - that honour goes to when his value was worth £36 million GBP in June 2022, after the conclusion of his first full season with the Hammers.
