US Open Champions Emma Raducanu and Daniil Medvedev will both be amongst those competing at the tournament, along with both Wimbledon finalists, Matteo Berettini and Karolina Plitskova.

Wimbledon Champions Novak Djokavic and Ashleigh Barty have both decided not to participate in the BNP Paribas Open 2021. Novak Djokovic took to Twitter to announce he would not be participating in this year’s tournament.

Great Britain’s Emma Raducanu shot to fame earlier this summer when she made it to the last 16 of the Wimbledon Championships having only played in her first WTA event in June 2021.

Raducanu was given a wildcard entry to this year’s Indian Wells tournament as well as a bye for the first round, meaning she will play her first match on Friday 8 September or Saturday 9 September in the second round against either Maria Camila Osorio Serrano or Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
