With the summer transfer window fast approaching, it’s time once again for the all exciting summer transfer window, with rumours abound already of where players may end up plying their trade around the world ahead of the 2023-2024 football season. Two of those names though that are eliciting a lot of speculation happen to be former Ballon d’Or winners - World Cup winner Lionel Messi and Real Madrid talisman Karim Benzema.
While Messi’s time at PSG looks to have come to an end, with the player set to leave the Parisian giants during the summer on a free transfer, Karim Benzema is reportedly weighing up options to play in the Saudi Pro League - joining the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who became a member of Riyadh club Al-Nassr after a ill-timed move to Manchester United.
Another Riyadh team, Al-Hilal, have been the name banded around regarding where Karim Benzema could move to, with Spanish outlet AS Sport reporting that Benzema has been offered a £345m-two-year deal, which would match the wage Ronaldo is currently on per year (£175 million). There is a caveat however - murmurs have also continued that as part of the deal, the KSA would look to Benzema as an ambassador in their attempt to win the rights to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
So should Karim Benzema decide to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Riyadh to finish his illustrious career, could he make the move to Jeddah, a mere two hours away by plane where Al-Hilal play, and live in one of the numerous luxury apartments on offer in the city?
