A look at Mason Mount’s family and girlfriend as he signs for Manchester United from Chelsea as No. 7

Mason Mount has signed with Manchester United after playing for rivals Chelsea over the past 18 years. The 28-year-old midfielder signed a contract with Man Utd until June 2028. He made 279 club appearances for Chelsea, scored 58 goals and has 36 caps for England. 

Not only that, Mason has also been given the number seven shirt which in the history of the Red Devils is the most significant number to wear. It has been worn by football legends including George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo. 

Speaking about the move Mason said “It’s never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career. Having competed against them, I know just how strong a squad it is that I’m joining, and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s drive to win major trophies.”

Who is Mason Mount? 

Mason was born on 10 January 1999 in Portsmouth, to parents Debbie and Tony Mount. Mason has an older sister named Amelia Mount and he attended Purbrook Park School. He has been best friends with fellow England player Declan Rice since childhood. 

His father was a former non-league footballer who went on to coach local clubs. Mason grew up playing football from a young age he played locally for Boarhunt Rovers and United Services Portsmouth. When he was just 4 years old he spent one day a week training in the academies at Portsmouth and Chelsea. He was promoted to the Chelsea seniors team when he was 18. 

Who is Mason Mount’s Girlfriend? 

After splitting from his girlfriend of five years Chloe Wealleans-Watts in 2022 it seems the footballer has moved on with American model Claire Grossman. Claire is a New York-based influencer reportedly dating Mason. According to The Sun the pair were recently seen enjoying a holiday in the Greek Island of Hydra.

The model previously flew to London and shared a video clip on her social media watching Mason play at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge. However, neither of them follow each other on Instagram and neither have confirmed or denied they are seeing each other. We will just have to watch this space.
