While it may have been the perfect treble for Brooks Koepka who took home his third PGA Championship title at Oak Hill (his fifth major title overall), it was Michael Block who seemingly came out on top thanks to his hole-in-one.

Michael stole the show at the southern Californian event after becoming the only club professional to make the cut out of 20 competitors at the age of 46.

From a stellar second round that saw him reach a high of second place before falling to par to his final day when he not only scored a hole-in-one at number 15 but also qualified for next year’s championship automatically from his T15 place.

The Missouri-born golfer played golf at college and graduated with a degree in golf management from the San Diego Golf Academy, and while he won the Southern Californian PGA Player of the Year award nine times out of ten between 2012 and 2022, this 2023 Championship really put him at the forefront.

So much so that Michael received a sponsor exemption for next week’s Charles Schwab Challenge with the likes of Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland.

One person you will not see at the Charles Schwab Challenge is 2023 PGA Champion Brooks Koepka as he became the first LIV golfer to win a major US golf championship.

Despite coming out on top, Brooks started out the weekend by being booed at by fans for his move to the Saudi Arabian-backed Golf competition which was the focus of Netflix’s first season of Full Swing.

Brooks and his wife Jena Sims, who recently announced their pregnancy, starred in the golf documentary series and were seen debating his move to PGA’s competitor as a result of the huge paydays LIV Golf provides.

Netflix announced a second season of Full Swing in March alongside PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, therefore while it is up for debate whether the LIV recruits will feature in the docu-series, could we see upcomer Michael Block and his family feature?

Who is Michael Block married to?

Michael Block lives with his family in Mission Viejo, California, namely his wife Val and their two teenage children Dylan and Ethan.

Val was born and raised in Argentina but met Michael at a birthday party in Laguna Beach, California when Michael was in his 20s. While it is not known when the pair tied the knot, it is reported that they have been married for approximately two decades.

When asked if Michael teaches Val golf, she said: “That man can teach every single human in the world, but not me. He doesn’t have the patience for me.”
