The biggest sport star comebacks of all time - ahead of potential Tiger Woods return at Masters 2022
Tiger Woods is finally set to return to action this week.

Tiger Woods confirmed that he plans to make his long-awaited return to golf at The Masters this week.
Woods has not featured at the top level since he suffered career-threatening injuries following a serious car crash over a year ago.
The 15-time champion competed at the PNC Championship in December with his son, Charlie, but it was still unclear whether he would appear for Thursday’s opening of The Masters.
However, Woods has delighted fans with the news that he intends to play in tomorrow’s tournament.
While many will have expected him to retire from the sport after his car crash, he has managed to recover very well and we will finally be able to see him back on the grass.
In celebration of Woods’ return, we have taken a look at 10 of the best comebacks from sports stars (ranked from lowest to highest)...

1. George Foreman
George Foreman came out of retirement at 38 and began boxing his way to the top again. At 45 years old he shocked fans when he knocked out 26-year-old Michael Moorer with a right punch to the chin and became world champ - two decades after holding his first title.

2. Michael Jordan
Following the murder of his father in 1993, Michael Jordan announced his retirement in October of that year. He spent almost two years away from basketball before announcing his return with a statement simply reading: “I’m back”. Ten days after the announcement he broke the record for the most points scored by an opponent at Madison Square Garden as he faced the Knicks.

3. Tom Brady
Brady’s career almost ended in 2008 when he tore both the ACL and MCL in his knee and missed the whole season. However, he was exceptional upon return and won another four Super Bowls.

4. Bethany Hamilton
Bethany Hamilton suffered a tragedy when her arm was bitten off by a tiger shark when surfing, aged 13. Just over a year after the attack she won her first National Title and went pro. She has been surfing competitively ever since.
