Yes, O’Sullivan will take part in this year’s World Championship.
He is the two seed, and while we don’t yet know his first round opponent, we do know that he is on the same side of the bracket as Mark Allen, Shaun Murphy and Zhao Xintong.
All the seeded players will be kept apart for the first round, but O’Sullivan can play Allen in the quarter-finals and one of the others in the semi-finals.
In the latest rankings, O’Sullivan has posted in at top spot.
He currently leads Mark Selby by just over 50,000 ranking points.
Selby is followed by Neil Robertson and Judd Trump in the rankings.
