Hide AdBroad made his Test match debut against Sri Lanka in December 2007, and has since taken 525 wickets to move into second in the all time leading wicket takers for England.
What have been some of his career highlights so far?
The hat-trick hero
Broad is the only Englishman to have two test match hat tricks to his name.
In 2011, at his home ground of Trent Bridge in Nottingham, Broad took the successive scalps of India’s MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Kumar.
Three years later, during a series against Sri Lanka, Broad repeated the feat.

Blowing Australia away
Watching Australian wickets tumble is a joy for any English cricket fan, and in one session during the 2015 Ashes Series Broad made sure fans had a spell to savour.
In a ruthless period, Broad dismissed eight Australian batters and finished with awe-inspiring figures of eight for 15 as the tourists were bundled out for just 60.
England would go on to win the series 3-0.
The ton at Lords
Broad has shown on numerous occasions during his test career that he is more than capable of getting a decent score with the bat.

In the 2010 test match against Pakistan, the touring side had reduced England to 102-7 leaving little hope for the hosts.
However, Broad came to the crease and first steadied the ship with Jonathan Trott and then helped push his side towards victory.
Broad himself scored 161, and he and Trott put on a record stand of 332 that helped England to a total of 446 all out.
The hosts won the match by an innings and 225 runs.

After setting up a narrow first innings lead of just 10 runs, Broad picked up the new ball and went to town on the South African top order.
In under 10 overs, Broad took five wickets. His sixth, and South Africa’s last, wrapped up the innings for just 83 runs.
It was a match that England wrapped up inside three days by seven wickets.
Stuart Broad is a player who has given many memorable performances for England, and his wicket in the first innings of the 2nd Ashes Test in Adelaide suggests he is far from finished just yet.
