British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu will return to the court once again as she takes part in an exhibition match at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Champions of Tennis event.
Raducanu, who shot to fame after storming through the qualifying and knockout stages to win the US Open has recently shared photos on her social media pages as she is currently enjoying her first holiday in seven years.
The 19-year-old has been posting snaps of her break away from the court for her 2million followers on Instagram and has been sharing envious videos of jet skiing and lapping up the tropical waters of her unknown destination.
Emma Raducanu has become one of the most talked about sports personalities of the year after her incredible success in New York in the summer.
The Bromley-based tennis player became the first ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam as well as becoming the first woman since Virginia Wade in 1977 to win a Grand Slam tournament.
Not only did Raducanu win the tournament but she did so without dropping a single set.
Since her triumphs in Flushing Meadows, Raducanu has had a mixture of success, including first round knockouts at the Indian Wells tournament and Linz Open and a quarter final knockout at the Transylvania Open.
The rising star has now also become ambassadors for luxury brands including Tiffany &Co as well as Dior as a result of her phenomenal 2021 achievements.
When is Emma Raducanu next playing ?
Emma Raducanu will be present at two exhibition tournaments: the Champions of Tennis tournament and the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, where Andy Murray will also play.
The British Number one will take on Romania’s Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Ruse is currently ranked at number 85 in the WTA rankings and won her first ranking title at the Hamburg Open 2021 in July.
Ahead of the Transylvanian Open in October, Ruse and Raducanu were practice partners.
Raducanu’s Champions of Tennis match will also be the first time that she will play under her new coach Torben Beltz. Beltz has formerly spent much of his coaching career with Angelique Kerber, guiding her to an Australian and US Open win in 2016.
What is the Champions of Tennis event?
These are only semi-competitive events and will not offer the US Open star much in preparation for next year’s full season on the WTA Tour but they do give the opportunity to keep Raducanu practicing and playing.
The Champions of Tennis event will take place this week at the Royal Albert Hall, and while it is part of the ATP Champions Tour, it is primarily a series of tournaments that are designed to offer fans a chance to see former professionals and popular current players in action.
The Champions of Tennis event runs from 25 November to 28 November 2021 and Raducanu is scheduled to be on the court on Sunday 28 November. The match will not be played before 1pm GMT and it will be available to watch on the tournament’s Facebook page and official website.
