The draw for the Carabao Cup 2021/22 draw takes place on Saturday 30 October 2021. The event will start at 10.30am BST.

How to watch the Carabao Cup 2021 draw

There will be a live programme on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM and the programme will also be available to watch through the Sky Sports social channels. Sky Sports will be live streaming the draw on Sky Go app.

The programme will begin at 10.30am BST.

Former midfielder and Soccer Am host Jimmy Bullard will be drawing the teams along with actor Daniel Mays (Line of Duty, Fisherman’s Friends, Code 404)

Bullard featured in the 2006 Cup Final with Wigan Athletic and ahead of the draw he has said “I’m absolutely buzzing to be making the draw, it’s a real honour. One of the proudest moments in my career was playing in the League Cup final.”

What happened in the last round of the Carabao Cup?

Manchester City had the biggest shock as they were knocked out of the competition by West Ham United. Man City are the second most successful team in the tournament with eight wins and four consecutive wins from 2018-2021.

The final score ended at 0-0 with West Ham winning 5-3 on penalties.

League One team Sunderland beat the Champions League team Queens Park Rangers. The final whistle saw the scorecard as 0-0 with Sunderland making it through to the quarter final after winning 3-1 on penalties

Leicester City were the third team to win their match on penalties. They took on Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday evening and at the final whistle, the scoresheet read 2-2 thanks to a second half equaliser by Brighton’s Enock Mwepu. Leicester were the ultimate victors as they won 4-2 on penalties.

Southampton are the final sufferers of the penalty shootouts losing 4-3 to Chelsea. Che Adams’ goal just inside of the second half equalised the scorecard for the Saints, however they ultimately lost out to the London club.

Burnley, Preston North End, Stoke City and Leeds United were the other teams to have been knocked out of the competition.

The quarter final matches are set to be held the week commencing 20 December 2021.
