However, new research has revealed that the cost of a trip to the seaside could be up to 60 per cent more expensive than usual, depending on which town you visit. A study by VoucherCodes.co.uk analysed the cost of a regular portion of fish and chips, an ice cream cone, a draught pint and a bucket and spade at shops at popular seaside destinations across the UK. These are the 10 towns which proved to be the most expensive, based on these four factors, for a family day out.
