Torbay writer: Author Gate Publishes Debut Novel From Bob Jope

Torbay author Bob Jope has had his debut novel published by national publishing house Author Gate.
Torbay’s local writer Robert Jope, who writes under the pen name Bob Jope, marks the publication of his debut novel, Obsession, released nationally through publishing house Author Gate.
Jope has created a psychological and literary drama that’s already drawing early interest from readers across the country.
His book, Obsession, follows the story of one man consumed by the need to outwrite his lifelong rival; an unsettling exploration of ambition, envy, and the dangerous pursuit of artistic perfection.

At its heart, the novel asks a provocative question: how far will a writer go to create the perfect book, and what will he lose in the process?
“I wanted to explore what happens when creativity becomes competition,” Jope said. “Writers often chase something impossible — the perfect sentence, the perfect story. For my protagonist, that pursuit becomes everything and is personified in his envy of a bitter literary rival, leading him to wild plans to destroy what he sees as his rival’s career, with consequences beyond anyone’s expectations.”
Stacey Prachides, editorial manager from Author Gate, explains why the book should be a hit with readers: “There is something compelling about the way Bob exposes the writer’s mind, including his own. Hie explores what writers secretly endure: their doubts, rivalries, fears, and fragile pursuit of perfection. It’s sharp, self-aware, and utterly compelling.”
Obsession is available nationally through Author Gate’s distribution network, and Jope is planning a Torbay book launch and signing event later this year. Dates and venues will be announced soon.
