But what is the film about, when will it be released and who else is in the star studded cast?
Here’s what you need to know.
What is House of Gucci about?
The trailer for House of Gucci has been released, giving viewers a glimpse into what the film will be about.
The film - which is “inspired by the true story” - revolves around the lives of the Gucci family, with Gucci fashion house now being one of the most well-known and much-loved luxury designer brands.
The trailer notes that ‘Money’, ‘Family’, ‘Power’, ‘Betrayal’, ‘Sex’, ‘Loyalty’, ‘Scandal’, ‘Ambition’ and ‘Murder’ will all be major themes in the film.
Patrizia Reggiani, an Italian socialite, married Maurizio Gucci – the grandson of Gucci founder Guccio Gucci - in 1972.
Over the next 15 years, the couple had two daughters, fought and won a high-profile battle for control of the Gucci brand, and became a regular feature in the Italian tabloids.
However, a few years after Maurizio and Reggiani split, Maurizio sold the Gucci brand to Bahrain-based firm Investcorp for approximately £150 million.
Maurizio was then shot dead on 27 March 1995, after a hitman fatally shot the 46-year-old in his office lobby near Milan’s fashion district.
His murder prompted an investigation that would take years to resolve.
In 1998, Reggiani was convicted of ordering his murder. She was released from prison in 2014.
That same year, Reggiani told La Repubblica: “I still feel like a Gucci – in fact, the most Gucci of them all.”
The film adapts Sara Gay Forden’s 2000 book, named The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, And Greed, and is scripted by Roberto Bentivegna.
It is co-produced by Sir Ridley Scott, Giannina Scott and Scott Free Productions.
Who stars in the cast?
Lady Gaga stars as Patrizia Reggiani, with Adam Driver playing the role of Maurizio Gucci.
Alongside Gaga and Driver, Oscar-winner Jared Leto plays Paolo Gucci, the former vice president and managing director of Gucci.
Jeremy Irons stars as Maurizio’s father, Rodolfo Gucci, Al Pacino plays the role of Aldo Gucci, and Salma Hayek as Pina Auriemma, the clairvoyant friend of Reggiani who was sentenced to 25 years in prison after Maurizio Gucci's murder trial in 1998.
When will House of Gucci be released?
The film is set to hit US cinemas on 24 November before arriving in the UK two days later on 26 November.
In the US, House of Gucci will also be streaming on Paramount+.
