Love and monsters cast: who stars in the Netflix movie - and will there be a Love and Monsters 2?
Netflix has just dropped it’s latest thriller movie, Love and Monsters, which was originally due for cinematic release in February.
The monster-apocalypse film follows Joel Dawson (Dylan O’Brien), as he reconnects with his girlfriend, Aimee (Jessica Henwick), seven years after the apocalypse forced humanity underground.

So, who is in the cast and where can you watch it? This is what you need to know.
Dylan O'Brien as Joel
Teen Wolf’s O’Brien (who also stars in Blade Runner) leads as Joel in this epic new movie about searching for lost love, putting his life in danger on a mission to be reunited with Aimee.
The 29-year-old American actor has featured in many sci-fi dramas - most notably in all six seasons of Teen Wolf. As such, he had a strong (predominantly female) fan base.

Boy
Joel is joined by man’s best friend, a loyal dog named Boy, who lost his owner in the apocalypse. Boy is played by Hero, an Australian Kelpie.
Boy and Joel search for Aimee, when they stumble upon two other lost souls - Minnow and Clyde.
The pair teach Joel important lessons about survival and life, before he heads on his way. Boy also runs off, leaving him alone.

Jessica Henwick as Aimee
English Actress Henwick is best known for her roles as Nymeria Sand in the HBO series Game of Thrones (2011) as well as Colleen Wing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting in Iron Fist (2017).
Her experience in sci-fi has played to her strengths, as she makes for a compelling apocalyptic survivor in Love and Monsters.
In her latest role, she is the lost girlfriend of Joel - but in the years since they were forced apart and lived their lives underground, Aimee has lost her loved one and doesn’t believe he will come to find her.

Michael Rooker as Clyde
Rooker will be recognised for a string of lead roles, such as Henry in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Chick Gandil in Eight Men Out, Terry Cruger in Sea of Love and Rowdy Burns in Days of Thunder.
His character Clyde in Love and Monsters is in search of safety, and has a great deal of survival skills.
He is on a mission to reach the mountains, having emerged from underground hoping the hills will give him a vantage point from which he can see and fight off the monsters.

Ariana Greenblatt as Minnow
At just 13 years old, Greenblatt is only at the beginning of her career, but her performance in Love and Monsters could be a breakthrough for her.
In 2019, she was pitched as 'One To Watch' by The Hollywood Reporter on their Young Hollywood list, and she makes for a convincing young survivalist in her latest role.
Minnow has lost her father, but strikes up a compelling relationship with Clyde, who has lost his son.
Will there be a Love and Monsters 2?

Hide AdLove and Monsters ends with the reunion of Aimee and Joel, and Boy makes a miraculous return - but there is still the imminent threat of monsters and the cast’s fight for survival.
While there has been no confirmation of a Love and Monsters 2, there is certainly scope to pick up where the film ends.
Director Michael Matthews told Decider, "There’s been some discussion about it. I’ve got a few interesting ideas. But we did focus on this just being its own movie."
In order to make Love and Monsters' story as strong as possible, Matthews avoided treating it like a "franchise-starter." Asked whether or not a sequel will happen he replied, "That’s really up to the audience."
Where can I watch Love and Monsters?
