The first season proved to be the saving grace for Love Island fans across the UK, after the ITV3 show was cancelled because of the pandemic. Viewers got the chance to watch the cast members avoid any sexual contact, despite all being immensely attracted to each other.
Anyone that gets caught kissing, having sex, or any form of sexual contact risks losing money from the group money pot.
The cast of series 1 was filled with plenty of rule breakers (Harry and Francesca), with the group finishing with $75,000 to split between them.
But where are all the contestants from series 1 now, and are any of the villa couples still together.
Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, the 27-year-old model turned out to be the ultimate rule-breaker of the series. Farago cost the group $32,000 in total, but she did leave the show with her partner Harry Jowsey. However, it seems the couple are no longer, ending their relationship soon after the show finished.
Farago now works as a model and influencer online.
Since leaving the show, Harry Jowsey has left his native Australia and moved to Los Angeles. He set up his own clothing brand called “Naughty Possums”, and continues to host “Love Doctor” sessions on his Instagram.
He is no longer with Farago, but it appears the pair are still in touch, with Jowsey posting a picture of them on his 24th birthday in June.
Former personal trainer Sharron Townsend left the show coupled up and in love with fellow contestant Rhonda Paul. The pair’s antics cost the group $16,000 from the money pot, but the couple eventually separated during the pandemic.
Townsend is now based in New Jersey working as a model and actor. He has also launched the Today I Smiled project.
Single mum Rhona Paul left the show with Sharron Townsend, but the couple eventually split after the pandemic. She now lives in Atlanta and owns PureluXX, a jewellery shop. Speaking about the break-up said: “Unfortunately we are not [together] We are the best of friends; we still do talk, as far as helping each other out, talking to each other and things like that.”
Chloe Veitch has launched a successful career as an influencer and presenter after her appearance on the Too Hot To Handle. She had over a million followers on Instagram, and a partnership with Fashion Nova.
She also appeared on the second series of The Circle USA, where she finished runner-up to Trevor.
Hailing from Ireland, Nicole was one of several islanders who failed to find love on the show, but she did walk away $7,000 richer. Since the show Nicole has worked with several brands and has set up her own mental health platform called “Lovd”.
Yacht-man Bryce Hirschberg is now based in Los Angeles. He made quite the impression on the show thanks to his piano skills, and even cost the group $3,000 after kissing Chloe. According to his website, he is currently working on his debut album and is recording music independently under the artist name, Bryc.
Smooth talking David Birtwistle was put through the ringer by both Chloe and newcomer Lydia whilst on the show. He is now a fitness and nutrition coach, founding the coaching programme Endeavour Life.
Birtwistle came under fire during 2020 for breaking lockdown rules to hang out with Nicole in Clapham Common.
Lydia Clyma arrived late to the villa alongside Kori and Madison. Clyma eventually got together with David, but things didn’t last outside the show. In March, Lydia revealed she’d decided to donate her eggs as she explained her reasoning behind not revealing she had a son on the Netflix show.
