The cast of 2021’s season seven are from several regions in the UK, including Exeter, London, Scotland and Somerset.

But does coming from a particular place in the UK put a contestant in better stead to last longer in the villa?
We took a look at the data to see which regions in the UK have done best and worst on the the hit ITV reality show.
*Note - Love Island season lengths vary, so some islander have had more of an opportunity to spend more time in the villa.

Hide AdLongest average number of days in villa
Across all contestants to have stayed in the villa, the average number of days spent in the villa is 21 (Bad luck Shannon).
If you are born north of the border then you might be in luck, as contestants from Scotland spend the longest average amount of time in the villa, at 28 days.
There have been nine contestants from Scotland competing on the show, with three of them making it all the way to the final. Only 56 per cent of the region's contestants got dumped.
Scotland has a winning islander to its name in Paige Turley (Season six). She won the series with her partner Finn Tapp. Turley entered on Day one, and left on Day 43.

Hide AdLaura Anderson (Season four), who hails from Stirling, Scotland, is ranked joint number one in terms of most number of days in the villa, with the 29-year-old lasting a total of 58.
Anton Danyluk (Season five) also made it into the top 10, with a total of 55 days spent inside the villa.
Shortest average number of days in villa
Bad luck if you hail from Northern England, as contestants from Yorkshire and The Humber spend the shortest average amount of time in the villa, at just 16 days.
Yorkshire and The Humber has seen 11 contestants compete on Love Island, with two making it to the final.

Hide AdHowever, 74 per cent of the region's contestants have been dumped whilst on the show, with a grand total of eight getting voted out.
The region saw a winner from their parts take the Love Island crown in the first season. Max Morely (Season one) from Huddersfield is ranked 64th on most days in the villa, with a total of 27 days.
Wakefield’s Ben Porter (Season 1) has spent the joint second shortest amount of time in the villa, with a total of one whole day.
That was only beaten by Malia Arkian (Season 2), who only managed a day on Love Island.

Coming from Wales will put you in a good position to last long on the show. The Welsh have had five contestants enter the villa, staying an average of 27 days.
The North East of England has also done well, falling just behind Wales. There have been 12 contestants from the region, staying an average of 26 days.
