Free 'Holidata' Lounge pop-up opens at London Victoria this August bank holiday

Travellers heading off over the August bank holiday will be able to enjoy a free pre-departure pitstop at London Victoria Station. The Holidata Lounge, hosted by mobile and broadband provider giffgaff, will run on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August, between 11am and 5pm, offering fizz, travel treats and a place to get holiday-ready before boarding the Gatwick Express.
The pop-up arrives as new research shows that almost two in three Brits (61 per cent) say summer is their favourite time for a group getaway. With airports like Gatwick preparing for up to 900 flights a day over peak weekends, the bank holiday is one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
The research also found that while two in five (40 per cent) people enjoy the build-up to a holiday, more than a quarter (27 per cent) admit they feel anxious or stressed. Nearly half (43 per cent) said access to a free departure lounge would set them up for the ultimate trip.
The Holidata Lounge aims to give travellers just that, with features including:
- Pre-flight fizz at the Ball Pool Bar
- A roaming rep on hand to help get phones holiday-ready
- A Pick ‘n’ Mix Travel Treats bar with free travel goodies and SIM cards
- “Air-obics” sessions to keep travellers limber before their flight
- Priority access and queue jump for giffgaff members
The lounge is free and open to all, with no boarding pass required.
