Barry Berkman,played by the show’s creator Bill Hader, is sent on his next ‘hit’ to execute an LA actor.

However, the low-level hit man begins feeling at home in the new city and finds a passion for acting.

The season two finale was left on a cliffhanger in 2018, and fans have waited almost three years for its third series - which was renewed in May 2019.

When will Barry season 3 be on TV?

Season three of Barry will air on HBO from 10pm (ET) on Sunday 24 April 2022, for those in the US.

The dark comedy series will air in the UK on Sky Comedy from Monday 25 April.

The half an hour episode, ‘Forgiving Jeff’, will air in the UK at 3:05am and 9:45pm.

There will be eight episodes, continuing weekly.

Each episode will be available on demand the day after it airs.

Who is in the cast of Barry?

Bill Hader

Hader plays protagonist Barry Berkman, a low-level hitman who desperately wants to untangle himself from his violent past of contract killing.

Hader featured in Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2013.

He also played Colonel Custer in Night at the Museum 2 (2009) and Richie Tozier in It Chapter Two (2019).

He was the voice of  Flint Lockwood from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) and Fear from Inside Out (2015).

Hader has been nominated for eight Emmy Awards for his role as Barry Berkman - and he went on to win two of those.

Stephen Root

Root plays Monroe Fuches, Barry’s former handler who is currently in hiding.

He starred as Jimmy James on NBC’s NewsRadio and as Milton Waddams in Office Space (1999).

He has also done the voices for Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland on Fox’s animation King of the Hill.

Recently, he starred in Amazon’s Uncle Frank (2020) and To Leslie (2020).

Root received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor Emmy for his role in Barry.

Sarah Goldberg

Goldberg plays Barry’s girlfriend, Sally Reed - who is now the creator and star of her own show.

For this role, she received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Goldberg is known for films including The Dark Knight Rises (2012), The Report (2019) and The Night House (2020).

Anthony Carrigan

Carrigan plays Noho Hank, the head of the Chechen mob in Los Angeles.

He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2019.

Carrigan is best known for his roles as Victor Zsasz in Fox’s Gotham and Kyle Davies in ABC’s The Forgotten.

He has also appeared on the Flash, the Blacklist, and Parenthood.

Henry Winkler

Winkler plays Barry’s former acting teacher, Gene Cousineau - who is in mourning the loss of his girlfriend Detective Janice Moss.

Winkler initially rose to fame as Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli on sitcom Happy Days.

He has also appeared as Marty in Here Comes the Boom (2012) and as Coach Klein in The Waterboy (1998).

Sarah Burns

Burns plays Detective Mae Dunn.

Burns began her acting career as Barney - known as America’s favourite purple dinosaur.

She has recently featured in Comedy Central’s Cavalcade of Personalities as Faye, and on Windy Acres as N’maia.

D’Arcy Carden

Carden plays Natalie Greer - an aspiring actress who also attended Gene Cousineau’s acting classes.

She is best known for starring as Janet in NBC’s sitcom The Good Place - in which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Carden also played Jessica in Other People (2016) and Gemma in Comedy Central’s Broad City.

Michael Irby

Irby plays Cristobal Sifuentes - the leader of the Bolivian mob.

His film credits include Seal Team (2017) True Detective (2015), Almost Human (2014), Law Abiding Citizen (2009), Flightplan (2005), and Fast Five (2011).

Barry Berkman kills people to earn a living.

However, he has discovered the joys of acting and wants to leave his old, and violent, life behind.

HBO’s plot for Barry season 3 reads: “Desperate to leave his violent past behind in favour of his newfound passion, Barry (Hader) is attempting to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting.

“But getting out is messy. While Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren’t the only forces at play.
