Hollyoaks actor Paul Danan has died aged 46: Police issue update

Former Hollyoaks actor Paul Danan has died at the age of 46, his management has revealed. According to the Mail Online Police today confirmed that the death of Hollyoaks star Paul Danan is not being treated as suspicious.

The actor’s management confirmed his death in a statement which read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old.

“Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many. His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.

“During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time.”

This comes after the actor previously revealed he had suffered respiratory failure due to 'obsessive' vape usage. In June 2024 the actor revealed that he was brought back to life after his 'obsessive' vape usage caused respiratory failure. He reportedly collapsed and had to be given CPR by his family after losing consciousness while at home.

Speaking to The Sun at the time he said: “t's a miracle I'm here. I'm upstairs puffing away on my vape then suddenly I lost my breath and collapsed. My family called for an ambulance and started giving me CPR, then police arrived and took over before paramedics took me to hospital.

Paul Danan was was best known for playing Sol Patrick in soap opera Hollyoaks between 1997 and 2001. He also starred in the original series of series of Celebrity Love Island in 2005.

On an episode of ITV’s The Jeremy Kyle Show in 2019 Paul Danan discussed his battle with substance addiction and admitted to being a recovering addict.

DJ Fat Tony called Paul Danan “one of the sweetest men” and said his death at 46 “hurts so bad”.

On Instagram, the DJ said: “This hurts so bad god bless you Paul one of the sweetest men I’ve ever met what a sad day x.”
