Jake E Lee, the former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, was rushed to hospital after being shot multiple times whilst walking his dog.

The musician, best known for his work on Osbourne’s classic albums Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin, is currently being treated at a Las Vegas hospital and expected to make a full recovery, his representatives told TMZ.

The shooting took place around 2.40am (local time) on Tuesday, and police do not believe Lee was specifically targeted, describing the incident as a "completely random" act of violence. No arrests have been made, and authorities continue to investigate the case.

The news prompted a heartfelt reaction from Osbourne, who worked with Lee after the tragic death of guitarist Randy Rhoads in 1982. In a statement to TMZ, Osbourne said: “It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today.

“It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be okay.”

The Las Vegas Metro Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting, but no further details have been released at this time.
