Michael Bay is one of the most popular action movie directors working in Hollywood today, and is known through his vast collection of movies, for his love of making things explode.

His previous blockbusters include Bad Boys, Armageddon and the Transformer movie franchise. Most recently, Bay turned to streaming, and released a Netflix original movie, 6 Underground, starring Ryan Reynolds and Dave Franco.

Michael Bay’s high-octane Ambulance, is based on a 2005 Danish film, with the same name - by director Laurits Munch-Petersen.

It focuses on veteran Will Sharp as he enlists his adoptive criminal brother Danny, to help solve his money problems through inviting him on an elaborate bank heist. This soon leads to further chaos and they find themselves inside a hijacked ambulance.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II star as the central characters in Ambulance, playing the adoptive brothers and robbers.

Ambulance has many actors known for their exceptional performances, including Oscar-nominated actor Gyllanhaal as Danny Sharp - who is best known for his work in Donnie Darko, Brokeback Mountain, and most recently the Netflix original movie, The Guilty.

Playing alongside Gyllenhaal as the other brother, Will Sharp is Abdul-Mateen . He is an award-winning actor, who earned himself an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in HBO series, Watchmen. He also took on a central role in the big-budget action movie, The Matrix Resurrections, last year.

Then rounding out the main trio of Ambulance, is Eiza González, as the EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Cam Thompson, that the brothers encounter along the way. González will be familiar to many for her work in movies such as, Baby Driver and Godzilla Vs. King.

When is Ambulance coming out in UK cinemas?

Ambulance will be released at cinemas in the UK, on 25 March 2022. Though not officially rated, it is likely that Ambulance will have a 15 rating, due to violence, strong language and use of weapons. The runtime is 2 hour and 16 minutes.
