By the time you have read this article, the premiere screening of acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodovar’s new short film will be in the books. Strange Way of Life has become one of Cannes Film Festival’s most talked about features, in part due to the reverence the film industry has towards Almodovar, and in part the thirsty sect of the internet clamouring to see “internet daddy” Pedro Pascal and ‘90s daddy Ethan Hawke in a LGBTQIA+ cowboy film.

But ahead of its screening at the festival today came the much anticipated photo call that many guests at the festival take part in. The bad news was that Pedro was at the photo call, but not the internet daddy everyone wanted, but the good news is that despite not appearing at the photo call it wasn’t a lack of Pascal that had tongue wagging.

That would instead go to the other people involved in the photo call and the sublime choices they made in attire attending the opening of the short film. Peopleworld’s editor Marina Licht commented about the four other members of the shoot and how stylish they were and also spotted the pussy bow look that Harry Styles repopularized was a very striking look for Jason Fernández - drawing comparisons to Styles’ attire at the 2019 Met Gala when he arrived in a Gucci sheer blouse.

That keen eye for their wardrobe led to the ultimate question after lunch in the office - who were those sharply dressed gentlemen?

They would be the other cast members, dear reader; though the film has generated a lot of focus on the leading cast members and director, there also happens to be other cast members involved in the 31 minute short. Given Almodovar’s propensity to cast Spanish speaking actors in his films, unless you're well versed in Spanish or Portuguese television and cinema, you would be forgiven for not knowing who they are.

So to demonstrate we are not solely here for Cannes for just Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke, Peopleworld has a look at the other cast members you should look out for ahead of the film’s general release through Pathe hopefully by the end of the month (it will be in Spanish cinemas from May 26 2022.
