A look at celebs including Jennifer Aniston who wear Rolex’s Milgauss watch as it is discontinued

Time flies when you’re having fun and for Rolex 60 years may feel like it has passed in a blink of an eye.

The Swiss watch brand has redesigned its entire range of Cosmograph Daytona timepieces to honour the collection’s 60th anniversary on 27 March, with ‘even greater visual harmony and a more modern demeanour.’

While the Cosmograph Daytona is getting a makeover, the release comes as rumours circulate that one of Rolex’s longest serving ranges ‘The Milgauss’ which was created in 1956 has been discontinued.

Reports come after Milgauss can no longer be found on the Rolex site and types of the watch have slowly been discontinued since last year. 

Designed nearly 70 years ago to ‘meet the demands of the scientific community…withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss,’ it was then labelled as the perfect magnetic shield.

This could be a key reason why many A-List stars choose to wear Rolex’s Milgauss - to potentially protect themselves from all of the attention they attract as a result of their celebrity?

Jennifer Aniston

While fans can watch Jennifer Aniston solve another murder in Adam Sandler’s Murder Mystery 2 on Netflix, it is no mystery that the actress wears a Rolex Milgauss.

The Friends star has a customised watch with black PVD treatment for both the case and bracelet. 

Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell has sported many a Rolex watch throughout his time in the spotlight after establishing himself on Saturday Night Live in the mid-1990s.

The Anchorman himself has worn both vintage and modern timepieces from Rolex including a green crystal Milgauss.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks has taken on hundreds of roles in his career in addition to being spotted wearing some gorgeous Rolex’s.

One of this timepieces spotted is the GV version of the Rolex Milgauss.

Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal has risen to prominence through films such as Brokeback Mountain and Donnie Darko, before finding more fame after Taylor Swift wrote numerous songs about their relationship.

When Jake was on a press tour, he could be seen wearing a now discontinued version of the Rolex Milgauss (116400 GV) loosely around his wrist.

James May

While he may be more known for his classic cars through Top Gear and The Grand Tour, James May has an impressive watch collection too.

The presenter has often been seen to wear the discontinued white dial Milgauss that is complete with non-tinted sapphire crystal. 

Sylvester Stallone

Move aside Rocky, there is a different crystal connected to Sylvester Stallone as the actor has previously pictured wearing a green crystal Milgauss.

Sylvester has also rocked a 1680 Rolex watch from Tiffany & Co and has collected several Patek Phillippe watches too.
