Rachel McAdams is celebrating her body as she poses for her latest photo shoot in Bustle magazine. According to the magazine the actress requested that the photos of her be minimally edited.

In one of the photos for the shoot the Mean Girls actress can be seen laying across a red sofa, earring black satin corset with matching wide leg trousers, her head tipped back and arms stretched out and surprisingly full armpit hair on display.

Rachel isn't the first celebrity to showcase the au-natural armpit hair look back in 1999 Julia Roberts made headlines after she arrived at the Notting Hill premiere with unshaved armpits.

Miley Cyrus proudly showed off her armpit hair as she inducted Joan Jett into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In the interview Rachel - who is currently promoting her upcoming film Are You There God? It's Me Margaret based on the book by Judy Blume - said “This is my body, and I think that's so important to reflect back out to the world”

The mother of two added: “It’s OK to look your best and work at it and be healthy, but that’s different for everyone.”

The star of The Notebook has been praised by fans on social media for the unedited images with fans asking for more images like this from the Hollywood elite. The actress doesn’t shy away when it comes to controversial photoshoots. In 2018 she was photographed for Girls Girls Girls magazine wearing a jacket and breast pump.

It’s a refreshing change to the usual heavily filtered images we are so used to seeing. It feels as though the era of unattainable Hollywood glamour is coming to an end with Rachel being the latest celebrity to promote body positivity.

PeopleWorld recently reported that some celebrities including Blac Chyna are going as far as having their fillers dissolved. Even the Kardashian’s are rumoured to be leaving the Botox and filler alone with both Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner reportedly getting their fillers removed.

It’s crazy to think that a woman with armpit hair still causes so much of a stir and is deemed lazy or not sexy. Many people see armpit hair as a masculine thing and women should shave it.

The reality is we are all human and some days it’s easier to just leave it alone and embrace our bodies as they are. Shaving your armpits started as a trend in the 1920s maybe its time in the 2020s that we say 'no more' and start the new trend of not shaving!
