The 94th Academy Awards will be remembered for Will Smith hitting comedian Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Smith appeared to take offence to a gag Rock made on stage about Jada Pinkett Smith’s short haircut, resulting in him marching on stage to confront the comedian.

Hide AdThe 94th Academy Awards took place on the evening of Sunday 27 March 2022.
For the second year in a row, the Oscars had been delayed due to the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the date for the 2022 ceremony pushed back from its usual February slot once again.
A nice upside for producers was that the postponement also handily avoided potential scheduling clashes with the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics, both of which took place in mid-February.
The Awards were held at their usual Dolby Theatre location in Los Angeles, and largely returned to their pre-pandemic form.
