Throughout the month of October, there will be new and returning Halloween outfits in the store.

Cards on the Epic Games website will reveal the legendary monsters that are making their way to the Fortnite item shop, as well as classic Fortnite characters getting a spooky twist. With each shop debut, the cards will flip over on the evolving page.

You can take a look at the card to see who will be entering the item shop - and make sure to check out the backs of the other cards for hints for who is coming next.

Frankenstein’s Monster and The Mummy will feature as part of the Universal Monsters Set - you’ll also find The Mummy lurching around the island as a character later in the month as he tries to find his way home to the underworld.

What’s going on with the Cubes?

The Cubes have started strategising the next step of their plan - and Epic Games says that “they’ll escalate their domination of the island”.

Prepare for this by getting a new weapon from The Sideways and returning Halloween tricks - and keep an eye out for a special returning LTM.

Speaking of Halloween tricks, the new Dual Fiend Hunters are on the island now - you can find them in chests or on the ground.

During the chaos of the Cubes, there will also be quests for you to accomplish to bag some creepy rewards.

Rick Grimes has even arrived to fight the Cube monsters, and he comes with a new jacketed “winter” style - and Daryl Dixon and Michonne have also returned to lend him a hand.

When does Fortnitemares begin and end?

Fortnitemares kicked off on 5 October, with a community inspired Boxy and Boxer in the item shop, and new glowing versions of their alternate Spectral Styles.

The annual Halloween event will run until 1 November, and is split up into four weeks, with each week bringing its own content planned for release.

The weeks are split up as:

  • Week one: five to 11 October
  • Week two: 12 to 18 October
  • Week three: 19 to 25 October
  • Week four: 26 October to 1 November

Fortnitemares this year will wrap up with its third Shore Nite film festival. Like previous Short Nites, Shortnitemares will feature animated shorts with ghoulish and sinister themes.

The Short Nite will take place in a creator-made movie theatre, created by Quantam Builds, where each short will have its very own room. You can choose the order you watch them in, or you can watch them all in a loop in the festival room.

“We’ll share more details on Shortnitemares closer to the show. Consider this your invite card!” Epic Games says.
