Creamfields North 2023 resumes this morning after two days of dance music and a throwback to the era of the superclub have already concluded. Today however looks to be a incredibly clustered series of performances and, unfortunately, some difficult performance choices due to set time clashes

One of those performances that’s causing such a dilemma is this evening’s headliner, Calvin Harris, a welcome return to the scene after his stint in the United States hosting a residency in Las Vegas. A career decision he believes almost killed his DJing and music producing as a result, in an interview with The Sun.

“One million per cent. It was unreal. No tunes were being made. I was there at least every week, playing. It got to the point where I was there a little too much. I got tired of it.” Harris was reportedly paid £1m per show during his residency at Hakkasan and Omnia at Caeser’s Palace. He admitted later in the interview he took to growing fruit and vegetables while trying to overcome his creative block.

But festival attendees will be glad to see Harris back behind the decks and no doubt in good form; such has the confidence seem to be restored for the DJ that he’s just completed his at the “mecca” of clubland culture, Ibiza, only last night.

We would imagine Calvin Harris is perhaps winding down some of his performance dates, as he is set to marry British TV presenter Vick Hope in what is said to be an “intimate” ceremony in Ibiza… could that private event have already taken place then?

Vick's prowess earned her the title of the "voice of a generation" by the Sunday Times, following her arrival at BBC Radio 1 in 2020.

She presented the 2022 Women's Prize For Fiction podcast series, having previously served as a judge in the 2021 panel.
