Things look to have gone from bad to worse in terms of Kanye West’s net worth; despite Adidas admitting they have taken a financial hit after parting ways with the controversial hip-hop artist’s Yeezy brand in the wake of his anti-semetic comments Now, the Daily Mail has revealed that two properties in his real estate portfolio have been left to go derelict.

The newspaper highlighted two specific properties in particular; the Wyoming Monster Lake Ranch and the ranch in Calabasas, that have been singled out due to new images showing the distaste of disrepair both properties are in. Wyoming in particular has been a long-standing issue for the musician, having listed it on the market for $11 million USD back in 2021, before pulling it from the market months later.

The “Monster Lake” Ranch was also set to be the site of Kanye’s latest offering to the world in the form of affordable housing. Looking more like tagine pots than actual dwelling spaces, it would mark his second attempt at providing low-cost housing to people having started the project in the Calabasas Ranch shortly beforehand. As opposed to the wooden constructions, the Monster Lake property used concrete materials instead, but were often mocked for looking like, as one reporter called it, “something you’d expect to see on Tatooine on Star Wars.”

Such have been the high hopes for both properties, with the Calabasas ranch touted at one stage to be a place enrolled in the Donda Academy could frequent. It was the planning of these “Yecosystems” that led to Kanye pulling out of Coachella 2019 set due to the lack of availability for building one of his dome-shaped homes in the middle of the desert near Coachella’s location.

West purchased the Calabasas ranch for $6.5 million in 2018 while the Wyomind ranch set the rapper back £14 million USD in 2019.

Now that it looks like a vast wealth of Kanye’s fortune now wiped after being dropped from endorsement deals, that his ideas of Yecosystems have now been placed on the backburner, and the state of the building work on the property akin to the architecture one would have found in HBO’s The Last of Us would demonstrate he’s given up on renovating his Calabasas ranch and, potentially, put his ideas of the Donda Academy on a permanent hold too.

Kanye West’s net losses 2023

Forbes have claimed that with the number of endorsement deals no longer in effect due his Kanye’s controversial comments to close 2022 with, coupled now with his real estate drama, that the once billionaire is now worth an estimated $4 million USD.

Though exact figures won’t show much Kanye West may be losing with a continued effort for people to protest Kanye’s comments by not listening to him on streaming platforms, and no news of a world tour to help create some ticket revenue for the rapper, the Adidas deal hurt more than Kanye West would like to give them credit for.

While the Yeezy brand brought in around 10% of Adidas’ revenue since the collaboration started, it netted a total of $500 millions USD for Kanye West in the duration of his partnership with the sportswear brand. With West also being dropped from Balenciaga, that would also have caused a dent in his net worth, though West has gone on record to state that he’s not lost anything from the fashion house, as they never paid him (allegedly.)

His tours, much like many musicians in this day and age, counted for a lot of his revenue before his excursions into the world of fashion. Forbes reported that West nets around $8 million per show, with personal appearances costing between an estimated $250,000 to £500,000, and those appearances drying up and no tour to speak of yet, it could be very plausible that Kanye’s billionaire status has taken a dramatic decline in the wake of his comments.
