Since birth I have been a huge fan of Kylie Minogue. Not only was I put in front of the TV as a baby to watch her as Charlene in Neighbours but I grew up wanting a four poster bed and roll top bath like she has in her ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ music video just so I could be like her. Most people opted for the infamous 80s style perm but - thankfully - I was never allowed.

All these years later, Kylie has proved once again that she is the Princess of pop with her latest single ‘Padam Padam.' The singer who is celebrating her 55th birthday today has had a successful career that spans over five decades.

According to The Official UK Chart this is Kylie’s highest entry on the Official Singles Chart in almost a decade, since 2014’s Into The Blue which reached Number 12.

Kylie looks sensational in her latest music video for the single. The icon is wearing a skin-tight red catsuit with matching over-the-knee lace-up boots and sheer train flowing in the wind - why? Because she’s Kylie and she can do and wear whatever she wants.

Fans have been going wild on social media over the viral hit that one fan wrote 'This song is going to be huge’. Whilst another claimed ‘Padam Padam is the song of the summer, and the album is a start-to-finish BOP!'

Kylie’s back catalogue of songs have made her a true icon in every sense of the word. Her previous hits that went straight into number were: I Should Be So Lucky, Especially For You featuring Jason Donavan, Hand On your Heart, Tears On My Pillow, Spinning Around, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and Slow. How The Loco-Motion only ever made it as high as number two in the charts I’ll never know.

It’s not just Kylie’s pop songs that do well for her, in 2020 Kylie made it into the Guinness World Records for having five number one albums in the UK chart over five consecutive decades. The albums were Kylie: Enjoy Yourself (1980’s), Greatest Hilts (1990’s) , Fever (2000’s), Aphrodite; Golden; Step Back in Time – The Definitive Collection(2010’s)  and Disco (2020’s).

Just goes to show even if you try and copyright the name like 'Kylie' (Jenner) tried to do, there really is only one Kylie in my book.
