Under Ryan Reynolds’ watch, Wrexham FC has been promoted to EFL League Two. In fact, most of Reynold’s business ventures including Mint Mobile and Aviation Gin have gone on to be hugely successful, so the question remains what is next for the Deadpool actor?

In answer to that question, it seems that Ryan has his eyes set on his hometown NHL team the Ottawa Senators as he made a bid last November following the announcement the month before that it was up for sale.

The current owners Anna and Olivia Melynk inherited the Senators from their late father Eugene and decided to put it on the market in October 2022 with one condition - that it remained in Ottawa.

When the sale was announced, Sportico valued the team at $655 million but estimated that the price tag could go higher.

While money may be no object to Ryan (who has a combined net worth of $690 million and counting with wife Blake Lively) and his childhood ties to Vanier, Ontario put him in good stead to take over the NHL franchise, the Hollywood star has to compete against silent bidders as well as Snoop Dogg.

Rapper Snoop Dogg announced his bid to purchase the Senators with LA businessman Neko Sparks on Instagram on Monday night.

He stated to his 80.1 million followers in two separate posts, “Boss moves” and “Amazing what @neko_sparks is trying to do in Ottawa & I'm looking forward to being a part of that ownership team. I WANNA BRING HOCKEY TO OUR COMMUNITY.”

Neko Sparks’ team is made up of more than a dozen people including Snoop Dogg and if their bid is successful, they would become NHL’s first black owners.

In light of Snoop and Neko’s bid for the Senators, PeopleWorld takes a look at the Young, Wild and Free rapper’s net worth.

Discovered in 1992 by Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg has had a hugely successful rapping career becoming one of the wealthiest to come out of the 1990s scene.

With hits such as Drop It Like It's Hot and Sweat as well as appearances in movies like Pitch Perfect, Snoop Dogg has built up a net worth of around $150 million, some $200 million less than Ryan Reynolds’ sole net worth.
