American Idol runner up Adam Lambert has come a long way since missing out on that record deal to Kris Allen.

Over a decade after his big break, he began performing alongside legendary music icons Brian May and Roger Taylor in ‘Queen + Adam Lambert’.

The band are set to perform a sell out UK tour in 2022, including dates in Glasgow, Belfast, London and Birmingham.

Lambert has now announced he will perform solo across six nights in Las Vegas, as well as a Live stream performance later this month.

So, who is the singer-songwriter and how do you get tickets for his Live stream? This is what you need to know.

Who is Adam Lambert?

Adam Lambert was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1982.

In 2008, he shot to fame on singing competition American Idol and was described by winner of the series Kris Allen as “one of the most gifted performers that I’ve ever met.”

Despite coming second-place runner up to Allen, Lambert has gone on to sell over 3 million albums and 5 million singles worldwide.

The Los Angeles Times later ranked Lambert fifth in its list of the top 120 American Idol contestants, selected from the first nine seasons of the show, above Allen.

In 2009, he released his debut album ‘For Your Entertainment’, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and sold over 198,000 copies in the US its first week.

He collaborated with producers such as Rob Cavallo and Max Martin, as well as writers from Matthew Bellamy to P!nk and Lady Gaga for the album.

Lambert is known for his earlier controversial performances, his LGBTQ+ activism and being the first openly gay singer to top the Billboard 200, with his second album Tresspassing.

In May 2021, he went Instagram official with his partner, Oliver Gliese. Lambert and Gliese were first seen on a beach in Mexico in November 2020.

The 39-year-old is also the founder of LGBTQ+ non-profit, Feel Something Foundation, which pays particular focus to issues which disproportionately impact the LGBTQ+ community, including education and the arts, mental health, suicide prevention and homelessness.

Lambert is thought to be worth approximately $30 million (£25.5 million).

When did Adam Lambert join Queen?

Lambert began touring with Queen in June 2014, joining founding member Brian Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor on a 35 date tour in North America, Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

The tour was a resounding success and reviews from the industry commented on the complimenting talents of the musicians working with Lambert’s vocals and impressive, charismatic performances.

The following year, they extended the tour to include a further 26 dates in 11 countries, including the UK and Europe.

Later that year, Queen + Adam Lambert was named Band of the Year at the 10th annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards.

In December 2015, the group performed on the UK’s X Factor, before announcing a surprise performance at an exclusive New Year’s Eve concert in London at Central Hall Westminster, Queen + Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben Live.

May and Taylor told Classic Rock magazine in 2016 that Lambert was “a gift from God.”

Lambert has continued to work on his solo career throughout his collaboration with Queen, including releasing his 2015 album, The Original High, including the hit lead single, "Ghost Town".

From the album, Lambert achieved his first top ten album in the United Kingdom, with a number eight debut on the UK Albums Chart.

Queen + Adam Lambert commenced a worldwide arena tour in 2017, spanning the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Later that same year, they held a 10 day residency in Las Vegas.

In September 2018, Lambert with Queen headlined the 2019 Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park.

The festival was dedicated to urging world governments to eradicate extreme poverty and address climate change, that year the festival achieved over 60,000 attendees, and nearly 21 million views worldwide, generating close to $1 billion in pledges.

They went on to release “we are the champions”, a remake of the Band’s original hit, on streaming and download services, with proceeds going to the World Health Organisation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

In October 2020, Queen + Adam released their debut album ‘Live Around the World’, which debuted at number one on the UK’s Official Albums Chart.

The concert was postponed and will go ahead in 2022.

When is Adam Lambert’s Live Stream?

Adam Lambert will play a Live stream at the Venetian in Las Vegas on 29 October, 2021 at 8pm PST.

Therefore, it will be shown for UK ticket holders at 4am GMT on 30 October.
