Rocket Man singer Elton John has confirmed he will perform at London festival BST Hyde Park 2022, as part of his epic Yellow Brick Road farewell tour.

The announcement came in the same week he revealed he will release album ‘Lockdown Session’ on 22 October 2021, featuring collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas, Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa.

He has sold over 300 million records worldwide - making him one of the all time best selling artists on the planet - but he will say goodbye, on his Yellow Brick Road tour.

So, when are the tickets on sale, how much do they cost and what can we expect from the tour? This is everything we know so far.

When is Elton John’s Yellow Brick Road tour?

Music legend Elton kicked off the tour in 2018, but many of the past two years’ dates have been cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions.

He has now announced the tour will go ahead in 2022, as he added five stadium dates to his already planned 25 UK dates.

Fans will need to be quick to snap up tickets for his arena dates, set to take place at football stadiums in the UK from June 2022.

Where are the stadium shows being held?

The stadium shows are currently set to be his last ever tour dates in the UK, taking place in Norwich, Liverpool, Sunderland Bristol and Swansea and the BST performance will come before the sadium shows.

Liverpool football club announced they will host him at Anfield, he will also perform at Ashton Gate in Bristol, Carrow Road in Norwich, the Stadium of Light in Sunderland and Liberty Stadium, Swansea.

Wednesday 22 June 2022 – Bristol, Ashton Gate Stadium

Wednesday 29 June 2022 – Swansea, Liberty Stadium

When do tickets for Elton John’s 2022 UK tour go on sale?

Tickets for the stadium shows went on sale at 10am BST on Wednesday June 30 via Ticketmaster, AXS, Alt Tickets and Gigantic.

Tickets will set you back between £49.59 to £162.00, depending on where you sit in the stadium and if you want a ‘VIP’ experience.

Those who pre-order the album before midnight on 5 September will have access to a pre-sale for the BST shows on 6 to 8 September.

American Express Card members will get exclusive presale access to all UK show dates beginning Thursday 24 June at 10am until Tuesday 29 June at 10pm.

Liverpool FC have also announced that Liverpool FC season ticket holders, official members, Official Supporters Clubs and hospitality members will be included in the pre-sale for the Anfield concert.

Will he continue to release music after the tour?

Announcing ‘Yellow Brick Road: The final farewell’ tour back in 2018, Elton explained his “priorities have changed.”

At the launch of his tour, he told reporters: “My priorities are my children, my husband and my family,” adding: “I thought the time was right to say thank you to all my fans around the world globally and then just say goodbye and have a breather. It’s not to say I’m not going to be creative anymore.”

He was supposed to perform 300 international shows, across Europe and the US, from 2019 to 2021.

However, the coronavirus pandemic ruined his plans and he has since confirmed new dates for the shows - as well as the additional shows in the UK.

He will perform the very last concert of his farewell tour in Los Angeles, over two nights at the Dodger Stadium in November 2022.

Asked if he will ever perform live after the Yellow Brick Road tour was completed, he said it would need to be a Las Vegas “residency like Kate Bush”.

“I don’t want to go out with a whimper – I want to go out with a big bang,” the Rocket Man singer proclaimed.

However, the 74-year-old confirmed he will continue producing and releasing music when the tour ends.
