It would seem that fatherhood has had a profound impact on former One Direction star Zayn Malik. Zayn, who shares two-year old daughter Khai with ex girlfriend, supermodel Gigi Hadid, said on the podcast that “Since I’ve had my daughter the main thing in my life is trying to be a good example to her. That’s why I’m even doing this interview.”

Zayn split up from Gigi Hadid, the mother of his only child Khai, in 2021. In the podcast he also revealed that “I used to get a lot of anxiety around doing a conversation like this but I want her to be able to look at me and say ‘my dad’s doing this.’

As well as revealing that daughter Khai has brought the ‘colour back to my life for me,’ he also touched upon his experiences in One Direction. He revealed that “I feel like we were so overexposed in the band that like that is why I have taken the time away not to do interviews.”

Zayn only returned to Twitter in May after taking a long break from social media. On the 27th May he said on Twitter that “I would like to say thank you to everyone that has supported me throughout this amazing journey, especially to my fans who I owe my life to. Love and adore you and see everything you do for me.”

As expected, fans were quick to respond to his tweet earlier this year. One fan said: “I love you so much,” whilst another said: “Love love love you.”

Since splitting from Gigi Hadid in 2021, Zayn has remained ‘single.’ There has recently been a lot of speculation about who is the ‘mystery blonde’ in the video for his new single, ‘Love Like This,’ which drops on July 21. One of the theories is that it might be Selena Gomez as the pair were linked earlier this year.
