Celebrity Masterchef contestants 2021: who is in the third round of heats - and how does it work?

Celebrity Masterchef is back tonight for the seventh episode of season 16, with hosts John Torode and Greg Wallace putting a group of familiar faces through their paces in the kitchen.

The competition is hotting up as we pass the halfway mark, and a group of celebs take part in the third round of heats.

Here’s the lowdown on tonight’s episode.

Who are the celebrities appearing in tonight’s episode?

The show brings together famous faces from across the worlds of entertainment, sport, sport and business to compete for the title of Celebrity Masterchef.

There are 20 celebrities taking part in this season of the show, but only five featured in each of the opening heats.

Who is Katie Price?

Katie Price is a former glamour model, author and reality TV star, formerly known as Jordan.

Price became a household name following her appearance on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2004 alongside popstar Peter Andre, who would later become her husband.

Since then she has written more than 20 books, starred in a host of reality TV shows and released two albums.

Who is Dion Dublin?

Dion Dublin is a former professional footballer who played for Manchester United and England in a career which spanned 20 years.

Dublin made his senior debut at Norwich City, and eventually secured a £1m transfer to Manchester United in 1992.

The footballer retired after a second spell with Norwich in 2008, and has since become a pundit and TV presenter.

Who is Joe Swash?

Joe Swash is best known for his role as Mickey Miller in the BBC’s Eastenders, but has also appeared on a number of reality TV shows, including Dancing on Ice.

In 2020, Swash announced his engagement to X-Factor star Stacey Solomon, having been dating for several years after the pair met on I’m a Celebrity several years previously.

They have one child together, and in July 2021 the pair announced that they are expecting a baby girl.

Who is Will Kirk

Will Kirk is a professional furniture restorer who works on the hit BBC show, The Repair Shop.

After studying graphic design and antique furniture restoration and conservation at university, then representing the UK at competitions in Italy,  Kirk set up a workshop in London in 2012.

Soon afterward he began appearing irregularly on TV shows, such as The French Collection and What to Buy and Why, before landing a role on The Repair Shop in 2017.

Who is Melissa Johns?

Actor and disability activist Melissa Johns is the final contestant on this week’s Celebrity Masterchef.

An award-winning actor from a working-class family in Herefordshire, Johns is best known for her roles in BBC drama Life and Coronation Street, as Hannah Taylor and Imogen Pascoe, respectively.

Johns was born without a fight forearm and hand, and has used her platform as an actor to speak out for improved representation of disabilities in the arts.
