Heartstopper cast: what’s next for Joe Locke, Kit Connor, Yasmin Finney and the stars of the Netflix hit?

It’s only been a few days since the new season of Heartstopper landed on Netflix - but, at just eight half hour episodes, most fans have likely already finished watching it.

Whether you’re still reeling from the ending or getting ready to watch it all over again, you’re probably already wondering what the cast are up to next – after all, their performances were your favourite part of the show, right?

Here’s everything you need to know about where you can next see the cast of Heartstopper.

Joe Locke

Where do you know them from already? Like a lot of the cast of Heartstopper, Locke was essentially an unknown when he was cast as Charlie Spring, with the Netflix series his first major acting role. In the time between seasons 1 and 2, Locke appeared as Noah in a staging of The Trials at the Donmar Warehouse.

What are they starring in next? Locke’s next project is the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Agatha: Coven of Chaos, a spinoff of 2021’s Wandavision. Locke will star in an as-yet-undisclosed role alongside Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, and Patti LuPone. The series is expected to arrive in 2024.

Kit Connor

Where do you know them from already? Connor was perhaps the most established of the Heartstopper cast prior to the show beginning, having appeared in the films Get Santa and Little Joe, as well as the television series Rocket’s Island. He was however best known for playing a young Elton John in the musical biopic Rocketman.

What are they starring in next? Connor can next be seen in the romcom A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, followed by the horror movie One of Us. Both films are currently in post-production.

Yasmin Finney

Where do you know them from already? Outside of Heartstopper, Finney was best known for her platform on tiktok, where she discussed life as a Black British teenage transwoman. She had been due to star in Billy Porter’s coming of age movie Anything’s Possible, but was forced to drop out due to Covid-19 related travel restrictions.

What are they starring in next? Finney can next be seen alongside David Tennant and Catherine Tate in the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special(s). At the moment, it’s only been announced that she’s playing a character called Rose, but it’s been heavily speculated that Finney’s character might be Donna’s daughter… 

William Gao

Where do you know them from already? Like many of the Heartstopper cast, Gao made his screen acting debut in the Netflix series. He’s also part of the band The Wasia Project with his younger sister.

What are they starring in next? Gao can next be seen alongside Alex Pettyfer and Guy Pearce in the movie Sunrise, about a man coming to terms with the death of his family at the hands of a harsh ruler.

Sebastian Croft

Where do you know them from already? Croft has perhaps some of the most high-profile credits of the Heartstopper cast, playing a young Ned Stark (Sean Bean’s character) in flashback sequences in Game of Thrones, leading the Horrible Histories movie, and appearing in the DC Comics series Doom Patrol.

What are they starring in next? Croft - who, it has been revealed, won’t be returning for future series of Heartstopper - can next be seen in the Amazon Prime Video romcom  How to Date Billy Walsh, in which he’ll star alongside Bridgerton’s Charithra Chandran.
