As John Barrowman quits Celebrity SAS show in record time, we look at other celebrities that didn’t last long

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is the most challenging show on TV as it pushes people to their absolute limits with military based challenges. And for John Barrowman it appears that was all a bit too much for him as he quit the show in record breaking time. 

The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ judge was set to star in the new series alongside TV personality Bianca Gascoigne, TOWIE star Pete Wicks and gymnast Ellie Downie.  

Filming began for the new Channel four series in New Zealand and within 30 minutes John gave up and quit the show. A source told The Sun “John’s exit from Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will go down in the show’s history as the fastest ever. They’d all got kitted up in their uniforms and had started filming in New Zealand when he chose to walk out.”

“It is an incredibly mentally and physically challenging television show and the task they were facing was difficult. Most of the stars were shocked when after 30 minutes John said he did not want to take part any longer.”

The show appeared to be the actor's comeback after he was fired from ITV’s Dancing on Ice in 2020. John was let go from the show after he was accused of sexual misconduct during filming and stage projects. 

The show is definitely not for the light hearted with gruelling mental and physical challenges including having to plunge into freezing cold icy water from a height. Although John will surely be the fastest to ever leave the show there have been a few others that left early on. 

Pete Wicks returns for a second time after he had to pull out of the series in 2021. The TOWIE bad boy knocked himself unconscious and broke his ribs during one of the challenges. 

That same year, Love Island winner Amber Gill quit the show after 48 hours because she couldn't hack it anymore. 

Whilst back in 2020 former Glamour model Katie Price was forced out after her first 48 hours because her breast reduction surgery became inflamed during filming.
