Silverton, 54, was a mainstay as a newsreader on BBC News, with audiences recognising her as the face of BBC News At One. She left the broadcaster in 2021 to pursue her “life’s passion” of becoming a child therapist, with Silverton now set to marry her love of counselling and broadcaster together.
A TV insider told The Sun that Silverton will be returning to screens to become the new ‘supernanny’ in a brand new series that will see her help overwhelmed parents. They said: “It will see her try to help families who are in need of expert advice and won’t mind being filmed while it’s happening.

Production company KEO Films have already put a call out for families to take part in the show. The call for participants says that parents will be handed a “lifeline” by Silverton in helping to manage their home life.
Silverton left her broadcasting career behind in 2021 to pursue her interest in child psychology. At the time the mother-of-two said: "My academic background is in child psychology, and becoming a mum really inspired me too. My journey has really been decades long, both in understanding more about children’s mental health, and as a parent really benefiting from all the interviews and access to advice that I was given by incredible people.”
She also added that taking part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 was meant as a stepping stone to leaving her journalism and broadcasting career behind in favour of counselling.
