Netflix’s We Have A Ghost; Jennifer Coolidge, David Harbour and Anthony Mackie star in short story adaptation

Netflix once again has managed to bring together an all-star cast for one of their Netflix Original films, including a multi-time Golden Globe winner and a Stranger Things favourite. We Have A Ghost is touted as a family-friendly comedy-horror, based on the short story Ernest, penned by Geoff Manaugh and originally featured on Vice’s website.
Netflix’s official synopsis for the film reads: “Teenager Kevin (Jahi Winston) is bummed to be moving into a rundown house that his parents got a suspiciously good deal on until he discovers a ghost (David Harbour) in the attic. Calling the ghost Ernest, Kevin sees he needs a friend.”

Set in Chicago, We Have A Ghost has managed to rope in the acting talents of David Harbour, Anthony Mackie, Tig Notaro and Jennifer Coolidge in a role we here at Peopleworld are excited to see when the film lands on Netflix - a television psychic medium. Coolidge is rightfully having a purple patch in her career after back-to-back wins at the Golden Globes for her role in the HBO series The White Lotus.
Peopleworld takes a little more of a look at the main players in the film, which is set to debut on February 24 2023 only on Netflix. Do Any of these stars have you looking forward to watching the film over the weekend?
David Harbour - Ernest
Fans of Jim Hopper won’t have to wait until the new series of Stranger Things to get their David Harbour fix. Harbour looks to have thrown himself into the role, complete with a shoddy comb-over haircut, much in the same way that he threw himself into his last movie role - playing Santa Claus in 2022’s Violent Night.

Jahi Winston - Kevin
19-year-old Jahi Winston has an impressive resume under his acting belt despite his young age; you may have seen the actor as Junior in Queen & Slim in 2017 or playing the son of Kevin Hart’s character in the 2017 movie The Upside, sharing screen time with Breaking Bad great Bryan Cranston.
We Have A Ghost is set to be one of Winston’s first leading roles in a production, with the actor set to follow this up later in the year in the Ime Etuk film Outdoor School.
Anthony Mackie - Frank
We are looking forward to seeing Anthony Mackie don the Captain America outfit, which is where we last saw the actor in his prized role as The Falcon in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Before then though, we can look forward to some more Mackie on the small screen - he will be playing the lead role of John Doe in the Sony Pictures adaptation of Twisted Metal, based on the video game of the same name.

Tig Notaro’s appearance in We Have A Ghost continues her trend of working with the streaming giant; after her first appearance on the platform through the 2015 documentary, Tig, the comedienne has continued to work with Netflix. She was a last-minute replacement for Chris D’Elia in the Zack Snyder Netflix Original, Army of the Dead, and earlier this month appeared in Aline Brosh McKenna’s Netflix exclusive, Your Place or Mine.
Jennifer Coolidge - Television Medium
To those who say that Jennifer Coolidge is having a career renaissance, our retort is simple: she’s never been out of fashion. Though a little more ubiquitous with her appearance on HBO’s The White Lotus, longtime fans of Stifler’s Mum will point to her roles in Legally Blonde, Best In Show (or any of the wonderful Christopher Guest ensemble works she’s been in) and cult-hit Party Down, where she replaced Jane Lynch towards the end of the show’s first season - and set to return in the reboot, airing on STARZ this year with the returns of both Adam Scott and Jane Lynch to the series.
