Praise Petey is finally coming to screens in the UK. The new animated series from Freeform already dropped in the US in July, where it received positive reviews including a 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Created by former Saturday Night Live Head Writer, Anna Drezen, Praise Petey is a 10 episode series following the life of Petey, a New York City "It" girl who finds out her father has left her his town of New Utopia in his will. There's just one catch though - this small town is kind of a cult, with Petey their new leader.

Will there be a Praise Petey season 2?

Praise Petey has not yet been renewed for season 2, but in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, creator Anna Drezen spoke about what a season 2 would look like.

Drezen said: "I would love to write more episodes with these characters. I think they’re so fun, and it’s really nice to play in this world. I think that Petey will now be a lot more committed to doing the wrong thing than she was, but also doing it in a way that feels like her and that she can live with. I think in season two we’re going to see her taking bigger swings; really grabbing the bull by the horns; trying to put her stamp on this town in a real way."

She continued: "I see a lot of plot-driven episodes, but it’ll still be like season one, where it’s pretty episodic. It’s plot-y but like Rick and Morty where there’s a lot of lore and plot, but whatever you need to understand it is within the context of the episode itself, so you can watch it in whatever order."

Praise Petey will be available to watch in the UK on Disney Plus from Wednesday October 25.
