Riley Keough was born into a family of true performers and she is set to continue her late mother Lisa Marie Presley and her grandfather Elvis Presley’s musical legacy as she stars as singer Daisy Jones in Amazon Prime’s new television series.

Shortly before Lisa Marie’s passing on 12 January 2023, Riley revealed she was inspired by her mother when taking on the character, adapted from the Taylor Jenkins Reid novel, ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’.

Riley said: “My mother is certainly an inspiration to me…she is a very strong, smart woman. I was raised by somebody who did their own thing and didn’t really care what other people thought. She was definitely inspirational to me."

In addition, many of Riley’s costumes in the Fleetwood Mac-inspired musical series sees the star pay tribute to her grandfather Elvis.

Riley appears alongside Sam Claflin and Suki Waterhouse in the Amazon series and joined the cast for her first red carpet appearance since Lisa’s death on Thursday night, for the series premiere.

The 33-year-old ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ actress stepped out with her husband Ben Smith-Peterson in a stunning and daring 1970s glam-inspired Schiaparelli Haute Couture look, complete with a pair of opera gloves and golden earrings.

While Daisy Jones and the Six airs next week, Riley is also working on another television series, according to IMDB, called Under the Bridge in which she plays a character called Rebecca Godfrey.

The synopsis states: “Reena Virk, a fourteen-year-old girl went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Seven teenage girls and a boy were accused of the savage murder.”

The series is currently in production but is expected to be released later this year.

As Riley continues to work in television in her professional life, and cares for her new-born daughter who she reportedly welcomed last month, she is also having to work in her personal life amid rumours that she is no longer on speaking terms with her grandmother Priscilla Presley.

The speculation comes after Lisa Marie Presley changed the terms of her will in 2016 to make her daughter Riley and her late son Benjamin, who died in 2020, as the sole heirs - thus removing Priscilla entirely.

Riley was named as the executor for Lisa Marie’s will, but Priscilla has now challenged the 2016 amendment and is contesting her daughter’s estate.

As the family still mourns the loss of Elvis’ daughter, a close source suggests the pair are not on speaking terms and are only communicating through their lawyers, while adding that even though Riley would like to settle the disagreement privately, the pair are ‘gearing up’ for a court battle.
