Are Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively set for the Great British Bake Off? Actor poses with presenters of the show

Ryan Reynolds, Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood - and no it's not the start of a 'walk into a bar joke' - the actor recently shared a picture of them all looking very happy in front of the Bake Off tent.

Fans of the Great British Bake Off have been going wild after the actor was seen wrapping his arms around the TV Stars Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood as they posed together for an Instagram snap.

The Deadpool actor shared the image on his Instagram account with the caption “A full and unconditional hug of pure serotonin.”

Many fans were suggesting that the Wrexham Football Club co-owner may be preparing to be on the show as a contestant or even be lined up to host the next series, who knows stranger things have happened. 

Matt Lucas decided to leave the show to concentrate more on his presentation for Fantasy Football League on Sky TV. This Morning host and former Big Brother star Alison Hammond has been signed up to co-host the new series which starts in September. 

In 2019 Ryan explained to People that he and his wife Blake Lively are huge fans of the show he said “We live in a world that’s pretty divisive right now and there’s a lot going on and I like that show just because it’s a nice thing to watch at night. Everybody on the show is nice to each other, which I find refreshing. It’s not really about anything that’s going to remind you of chaos.”

Or could it be Ryan’s ‘Gossip Girl’ wife Blake that is actually gearing up to star in the show? She’s already received one of Paul Hollywood’s famous handshakes for her baking skills. Well kind of…..   

The actress previously shared a video on her social media of a show-stopping pink unicorn cake that she had baked for her sister’s birthday, she joked “If I don't get a handshake from @paul.hollywood after decorating this one, I quit” The GBBO host replied with the handshake emoji and “Good Job.” 

To say the actress was overjoyed was an understatement. Blake proudly shared a screenshot of Paul’s comment to her Instagram Stories several times. And we would too, Paul's handshakes are seen as the highest form of praise from the chef. A ‘Paul Hollywood handshake’ really is the ‘icing on the cake’ for any baker.
